Mendocino’s Regenerative Design Center presents a Farm-to-Table Dinner and Greenhorns Book Tour at 7:00 pm Friday June 22 at Caspar Community Center. Meet Paula Manalo, founding member of the Greenhorns and editor of a new book of essays by members of the farmers’ movement. Manalo and several contributing writers/farmers will discuss their work and sign books, and Gallery Bookshop will have copies available for purchase at the event.
This dinner is dedicated to Ryane Snow, a dear teacher, healer, friend, and master forager who died suddenly in mid-May. The meal will feature seaweed and mushrooms in honor of Snow, and is part of a series of Farm-To-Table events hosted by the Regenerative Design Center. RDC is dedicated to building local sovereignty in Mendocino County by serving as a hub for new ideas and social initiatives and by offering a shared office facility and a venue for meetings, workshops, events and movie screenings.
The Greenhorns are a community of more than 5000 young farmers who are committed to producing and advocating for food grown with vision and respect for the earth. Greenhorns: 50 Dispatches from the New Farmers' Movement comprises 50 original essays by new farmers touching on everything from financing and machinery to family, community building, and social change.
Cost of the dinner is $25. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org. Doors open at
